This group focuses on novel materials (two-dimensional materials, optical absorption materials, and superconductors), their structures, and physical characteristics, then fabricates photodetectors, solar cells, and novel biosensors. As a theoretical foundation, the First-principles Calculations (VASP) plus the Quantum transport and device simulation (Nanodcal) are also implemented. Welcome scientific elites to cooperate. 主要研究方向为计算材料学，即运用第一性原理计算结合高通量和机器学习方法在材料、化学和物理领域对新型纳米材料的结构性质进行理论计算和模拟, 提炼材料设计与性能优化准则，预测和筛选新型高效廉价光电化学反应催化剂，具体包括析氢反应（HER），析氧反应（OER），氧还原反应（ORR），氮气还原反应（NRR）,二氧化碳/一氧化碳还原反应（CRR）和选择性氢化等反应。同时开展实验研究，将理论预测结果与实验相结合，开发出一系列运用于催化和能源转换相关反应的廉价高效催化剂。

所在课题组已具备完整的从理论计算模拟设计到材料制备合成及表征全路径的科研平台，同时与美国、德国、澳大利亚、中国澳门大学以及国内等课题组保持长期合作关系，热忱欢迎优秀青年人才、博士后及博士、硕士和本科同学加盟！

Chengjun Dong completed his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering at the Jilin University in 2013, during which he was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to study in Collins research group at University of California, Irvine (UCI) from 11/2011 to 2/2013. Since 2013, he joined the faculty at Yunnan University to start his own research in nano-materials and their applications in environment and electrochemistry. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed journal papers and has been invited to be a reviewer for many prestigious international journals.

Areas of Concern

Chengjun Dong’s research focuses on the synthesis of functional materials (metal oxides, hydroxides, metal sulfides, metal phosphide, carbon materials, etc.) and their applications in environment and electrochemistry. Diverse strategies have been used to synthesize unique structures for excellent performances in gas sensors, microwave absorption, supercapacitor, electrocatalysis and so forth. Very recently, the MOFs derived architectures are his research interest as well.
